Ten Famous Urdu Novels for students

It should come as no surprise that many readers choose international bestsellers in English when choosing a novel to read. Few people are aware that we have some excellent, well-known Urdu novels that everyone should read. Urdu literature is severely underappreciated, especially among young people.

 

Urdu ki Akhri Kitab by Ibn-e-Insha

Ibn-e-Insha is the author of this book, which is one of the most traditional yet enjoyable novels. This is quite funny and pokes fun at Pakistani society in a sarcastic manner. A must read.

 



Raja Gidh by Bano Qudsia

One of Bano Qudsia's best works is Raja Gidh. Raja Gidh focuses on the dark sides of human nature and how we tend to take advantage of the helpless. Although it might not be everyone's cup of tea, this book is unquestionably an excellent Urdu novel.

Pir-e-Kamil by Umera Ahmed

Surely many of you are already familiar with this book's name. One of the best books is Pir-e-Kamil. Umera Ahmed is the author. Saalar Sikander and Imama Hashim are the two main characters in the novel. The plot centres on the Qadiani sect and the transition of Imama from a Qadiani to a Muslim. The sequel to this book is titled Ab-e-Hayat. This book should not be missed.





Aangan by Khadija Mastoor

The illustrious Urdu author Khadija Mastoor is the author of this prize-winning book. The plot centres on the Indian independence movement and provides readers with a concise summary of the political developments of the 20th century. It is a timeless book that should be read by all students.



Over Coat by Ghulam Abbas

Although Overcoat is only a short story and not a book, it has become very popular. The author is Ghulam Abbas. In the book Overcoat, an issue that affects a certain class and how some conscientious people try to fit in by pretending to be someone they are not is highlighted. Khuda ki basti (God’s Land) by Shaukat Siddiqui
